Allyn Burrows

Artistic Director

Allyn Burrows has been a Company Artist with Shakespeare & Company since 198X, and returned to serve as its Artistic Director in 20XX. Previously, he served as the Artistic Director of Actors’ Shakespeare Project in Boston for seven years, and has worked with theaters across the country including Actors’ Theatre of Louisville, The American Conservatory Theatre, Long Wharf Theatre, The Denver Center, and The Walnut St. Theatre. 

Allyn has acted in numerous Shakespeare & Company productions, including King John (King John), Much Ado About Nothing (Benedick), Henry V (Henry V), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Oberon), and many others. Additionally, his Shakespeare & Company directing credits include Romeo & Juliet, Pericles, Jon Lipsky’s Living in Exile, Richard II, and The Tempest. His stage-and-screen acting credits span four decades and earned him the 2006 Elliot Norton Award recipient and a 2011 IRNE Award, among other accolades. Off-Broadway credits include Bug, Killer Joe, Louis Slotin Sonata, Closetland, and The Widowing of Mrs. Holroyd. His television credits include The Broad Squad, Law and Order, and Against the Law, among others, and his recent film credits include Don’t Look Up, Julie & Julia, and Manchester by the Sea.
